📚 Part 1: What are Singular and Plural Nouns?

Term Meaning in English Meaning in Urdu

Singular Name of one person, place, or thing ایک چیز، شخص یا جگہ کا نام
Plural Name of more than one ایک سے زیادہ چیزوں یا لوگوں کے نام

🧩 Part 2: Rules to Make Plural Nouns

🔹 Rule 1: Add -s

Most nouns add s to make plural.

Singular Plural Urdu

book books کتابیں
car cars گاڑیاں
apple apples سیب

🔹 Rule 2: Add -es to words ending in s, sh, ch, x, o

Singular Plural Urdu

bus buses بسیں
box boxes ڈبے
mango mangoes آم
brush brushes برش

🔹 Rule 3: If word ends in y → change y to i and add es

Singular Plural Urdu

baby babies بچے
story stories کہانیاں


❗ If vowel + y → just add s
e.g., boy → boys, toy → toys

🔹 Rule 4: Words ending in f/fe → change to ves

leaf leaves پتے
knife knives چاقو
