📚 Part 1: What is a Verb?


Definition:

A verb is a word that shows an action or a state of being.


Urdu:

Verb (فعل) aisa lafz hota hai jo kaam ya halat ko zahir karta hai.


Examples:

run, eat, play, sleep, go, is, are, was

🧩 Part 2: Types of Verbs (with Urdu)


Type of Verb Urdu Meaning Example (English) Example (Urdu)


1. Action Verb عملی فعل (jo kaam dikhaye) eat, run, play کھانا، دوڑنا، کھیلنا

2. State Verb کیفیتی فعل (halat dikhaye) be, have, seem ہونا، رکھنا، لگنا

3. Main Verb مرکزی فعل go, sleep, walk جانا، سونا، چلنا

4. Helping Verb مددگار فعل is, are, was, do ہے، ہیں، تھا، کرتا ہے

5. Regular Verb jin mein "ed" lagta hai walk → walked چلنا → چلا

6. Irregular Verb jin ka past form alag hota hai go → went جانا → گیا
